McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i Beta 2

McAfee is pleased to announce the Beta 2 for VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i and AntiSpyware Enterprise Module 8.7.

This new release adds a number of new features that improve performance of malware scanning as well as a number of functional and usability improvements. Providing this new functionality required architectural changes to the product infrastructure. While we have performed extensive testing to ensure that these changes don’t impact the overall stability of the product, we urge you to download this beta version, test all features in environments that are similar to your production environments, and provide us feedback to help us further improve the stability and quality of the release.

In addition to the new features provided in Beta 1, there are several changes and additions for Beta 2. Please see New Product Features below and the product release notes for details of these changes.

MCTRAY 2.0 TECHNOLOGY PREVIEW

McAfee also invites you to preview the next generation of McAfee tray icon technology by downloading and installing the “McTray 2.0 Technology Preview” using the button below. This is a locally installable executable that replaces the existing McAfee Tray icons and incorporates a new “look and feel.” This technology preview will expire on July 31, 2008, at which time the application will expire and require an uninstall to return to previous tray icon functionality. Feedback on McTray 2.0 should be delivered through the existing VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i feedback mechanisms which include the beta message boards, email, and beta feedback form.
